One day late last year, a friend of mine posted about a new ultrasound clinic in town. So I reached out to the owners, met with them…loved them from the start, and now so blessed to call them my friends, as we work together to grow our businesses!
Cassidy & Crystal were so kind in allowing me to hang my newborn baby and maternity portraits in their new office space! Our styles meshed perfectly, and I can’t wait to see their business grow. I had the pleasure of interviewing Cassidy Rainwater, the co-owner & ultrasound tech behind Adorababy 3D/4D Ultrasound Studio.

Q: What do you do? What is your business?
I co-own Adorababy 3d/4d Ultrasound Studio with my partner, Crystal Lauve. We offer an entertainment based ultrasound imaging studio where expectant mothers, their family and friends are able to come together to view baby in utero in a very comfortable and calming setting. There are multiple packages to choose from at various price points. Mothers can come in to find out the gender, see their baby move and play, hear baby’s heartbeating and evaluate the baby’s features in 3d/4d. We also have a specialized boutique for infants and moms to be.

Tell the viewers a bit about yourself:
First and foremost, I am a mother to four phenomenal girls, ages 10, 9, 7, and 5. They are why I get up and go every single day and I thank God for blessing me with each of them!
I am a radiologic technologist and a licensed and certified ultrasound technologist for over 15 years now. I received my B.S. in Radiology from ULM in 2002 and then went to The Schools of Johns Hopkins Imaging in Baltimore, MD for my ultrasound training. I have loved the medical field for as long as I can remember. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be in the hospital and help patients…it just took me a little time to hone in exactly how I wanted to help them! My main focus has been ob/gyn for the passed 6 years and I absolutely love it. I feel I have found my “place.”
Q: How did you get started in your field of work?
While working towards my undergrad degree, part of my clinicals were rotating through the various fields of radiology, ultrasound being one of those departments. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the ultrasound department and was fascinated by the technology, the physics behind ultrasound and the one on one time it afforded me with a patient. From there, I decided to further my career when graduating from college and was accepted to Johns Hopkins.
Q: What is your key to success? How do YOU define success?
I personally define success for myself, by setting somewhat far reaching goals and accomplishing them. Seeing my goals or dreams become a reality is success in my mind. Seeing my children smile and the love they have for what I’m doing adds another level of success that I haven’t noticed before this venture. They are so proud of what I’m doing with Adorababy and it is really awesome to share this with them.
Q: What do you find is the most challenging about your work?
Nothing really, now that we are open and taking appointments! The biggest challenge at this point would probably be finding the right marketing for our demographic and getting our name out there…and keeping it in people’s minds!
Q: Tell us about the people you have met with your career?
I have met tons of great moms, dads and grandparents throughout the Arklatex! I have had the pleasure of meeting several diplomats on the Shreveport Chamber of Commerce. And am most pleased to have teamed up with our in house newborn and maternity photographer, Heather McKinney!!
Q: What advice would you give to other business professionals?
Go for it!!! You’ll never know if you don’t try. Seriously.
Q: Where do you want to be in 2, 5, 10 years?
I honestly don’t have a specific vision for where I want to be. With four children and a crazy husband, it’s just too hard to plan! But, hopefully, within in 2 years, Adorababy will be paid off and will be debt free! In 5 years, I hope to have all my children thriving in school, in life and most importantly, their faith. I just pray to have my husband, children and family by my side and it won’t matter where I am or what we’re doing!
